Welcome to Happy X Craft, a creative embroidery studio where tradition, cultural storytelling, and modern textile design come together.

My name is Corina Ciocanu, embroidery artist, architect by training, mother of three, and a Moldovan living in Germany. Through Happy X Craft, I create modern cross stitch patterns, embroidery designs, and embroidery kits inspired by heritage, architecture, and contemporary artistic expression.

My Story

Happy X Craft was born after many years of searching for my own creative voice. Architecture taught me balance, harmony, and structure, but embroidery allowed me to reconnect with my cultural roots and express my artistic identity through thread and fabric.

I was born in Moldova, a small Eastern European country rich in ancient symbols, textile traditions, and ornamental storytelling passed down through generations. Growing up surrounded by traditional embroidery and cultural symbolism shaped my understanding of visual language and meaning.

Today, my work blends traditional Moldovan embroidery motifs with modern cross stitch design, creating patterns that connect heritage with contemporary creative lifestyle.

Inspiration & Cultural Heritage

My artistic inspiration is deeply influenced by:

• The ancient Cucuteni civilization, known for its symbolic ornamentation
• Traditional architectural decorations
• The Romanian blouse – the ie, recognized by UNESCO as cultural heritage
• Folk symbolism representing protection, harmony, strength, and continuity

For thousands of years, embroidery in Eastern Europe has carried cultural stories and spiritual meaning. These symbols once lived in clothing, homes, and daily rituals, becoming part of personal and collective identity.

Through Happy X Craft, I reinterpret these traditions into modern embroidery patterns and cross stitch charts designed for today’s stitchers.
